How to run Cyber Monday on Shopify after Black Friday

Cyber Monday is Monday, November 30, 2026, three days after Black Friday. Shoppers who browsed on Friday come back to see what’s changed. Here’s how to give them something new, set it up in Shopify, and end it on time.

Choose how Monday differs from Friday

Decide this before Black Friday, so Monday morning is a switch, not a scramble. Three common ways:

  • One sale, Friday through Monday. The same offer all weekend, ending Monday night. Simplest to run. On Monday, change only the message: the final hours.
  • A new offer for Monday. Black Friday’s deal ends Sunday night, and Monday has its own: an extra code, a different collection, or free shipping. Returning shoppers see something they haven’t seen.
  • Into Cyber Week. The sale runs past Monday. If it does, say so from the start; don’t announce a Monday deadline and then extend it.

Whichever you choose, the deadline you show must be the deadline you keep. A “last chance” that comes back on Tuesday teaches shoppers to ignore your next one.

Set it up in Shopify

End Black Friday’s discount on time

If Monday has its own offer, open your Black Friday discount in Discounts, and in Active dates click Set end date and choose Sunday, November 29. Discounts start and end in the time zone set in your Shopify admin.

Create the Monday discount

Go to Discounts → Create discount and pick the type. In Active dates, set the start and end to Monday, November 30: for a one-day discount, Shopify’s Help Center says to choose the same day for both.

Decide how it combines

If the Monday code should stack on a weekend-long sale, select the right classes in its Combinations section. If it shouldn’t, leave them clear, and Shopify applies whichever discount is best for the customer’s cart. See Discount combinations.

Check it before and on Monday

On Sunday, check both discounts’ dates. On Monday morning, open your store in a private window and use the code once.

Change the message on Monday

  • A new headline. “Cyber Monday: extra 10% off” tells a returning shopper something changed.
  • The real end. “Ends tonight at midnight” in your store’s time zone, or a countdown to it.
  • One place for the details. The code, what it applies to and whether it stacks, next to each other.
  • Your shipping cutoff. Monday is a good day to say when the last order for holiday delivery is.

Hand over to Cyber Monday with Promo Drawer

If your Black Friday offers are already in a Promo Drawer drawer, Monday is one more drawer, set up the week before. New to it? Install Promo Drawer and turn on its app embed; Getting started walks through both. Then:

  1. Set up the Monday discount in Shopify, as above. Promo Drawer shows the offer; the discount is Shopify’s.
  2. Make a Cyber Monday drawer. An announcement card with Monday’s headline, a discount code card shoppers apply in one tap, and a countdown card.
  3. Schedule it for Monday only. Give the drawer a start and an end on November 30. Times are in your store’s time zone, wherever the shopper is.
  4. Put it above your Black Friday drawer. Only one drawer shows per page, the highest in your Drawers list that fits the page and the schedule, so Monday’s drawer takes over at midnight without you touching anything.
  5. Count down to midnight. A countdown card can count to the end of its drawer’s schedule, so the timer and the offer end together.
  6. Let your everyday drawer come back. When Monday’s drawer ends, the next drawer that fits shows again. Give the Black Friday drawer its own end, so nothing from the weekend reappears on Tuesday.

Or ask Shopify’s Sidekick: “Make me a Cyber Monday drawer for November 30 with an extra 10% off using BFCM10 and a countdown to midnight.” It builds the drawer for you to review and save. See Sidekick.

Scheduling, the countdown card and the discount code card are on Basic and Pro, each with a 30-day free trial, so a trial started in November covers the whole weekend.

After Cyber Monday

  • Check every discount ended. Open Discounts on Tuesday morning and make sure nothing is still active that shouldn’t be.
  • Check the storefront. No banner, popup or card should still promise a deal that’s gone.
  • Note what you ran. Which offer, which code, which day, while you remember.
  • Move to the holidays. Shipping cutoffs and gift ideas carry you to the end of December.

The rest of the season, week by week, is in the Black Friday checklist. To schedule any sale, see How to schedule a sale on Shopify.

Questions merchants ask

When is Cyber Monday in 2026?

Monday, November 30, 2026. Black Friday is Friday, November 27, the day after US Thanksgiving.

What time does a Shopify discount start and end?

Shopify uses the time zone set in your admin. A discount with a start and end date of November 30 runs for that day in your store’s time zone.

Should Cyber Monday have a different offer?

It doesn’t have to. Running one offer all weekend is simpler; a new Monday offer gives returning shoppers a reason to look again. Either way, decide before Friday.

Can I extend the sale after Monday?

You can, but announce it as a Cyber Week sale from the start rather than extending a deadline you’ve already shown.
